About Tamu Dhin Japan

To promotions, preservations and protections of Tamu (Gurung) history, language, literature, script, arts, religion and culture as well as to unite all Tamu living, working, studying in Japan under one roof to exchange information about community we living, daily life, health with each other in real time and to be bridge for better relationship between Tamus, Japanese and other Nepalese community and to lead and bring Tamu in front of others community, Tamu Dhin Japan (Nepal) (TDJN) was established in September 17,1995.

Tamu Dhin Japan (Nepal) (TDJN) is non-profit making, non-political, non-partisan, autonomous social organization, which aims to integrate the entire community by providing common platform for conserving and promotion history, language, scrip, religion, culture, arts and other areas of common interest. Sociopolitical awakening programmed will be introduced at different level. Activities related to image building and projection an appropriate image of the community will be promoted. Inculcating on the need for diversification of economic activities through different professions will be taken up as a challenge. It will develop the linkages with other ethnic association of Nepal of universal cause, and similarly promote its countries through their Association.

At the beginning the organization went throughout many difficulties but it kept introducing Tamu culture to Japanese, Nepalese and people of other countries by arranging and organizing programs like Rodhi Sanjh (Traditional Gurung Dance), Buddha Jayenti (Birthday of lord Buddha), and Lochhar (New Year) in peaceful environment and from the date now it becomes tradition of organization to keep organizing such program to entertain entire Nepali and Japanese to forget busy life of Japan for while
